Dear Mr. Leeson,
I found your commentary quite noble and thought provoking. You
obviously speak from great knowledge and experience. I particularly
liked the fact that you avoid issues of the physical make-up of our
instrument. Items such as reeds and mouthpieces are an important
part of playing, however, it is my opinion that far too often we get
cought up in these details and neglect the true aspect of our playing.
A wise man once said to me that the best players are the ones that
can make any instrument, mouthpiece or reed sound fantastic. I say
this, but believe me it is not as easy to actually acheive.

I also found your interests in musical ensembles quite unique.
How much and where have you had opportunities to play in such
ensembles
/Please respond, I would really be interested in sharing more of
this clarinet talk with you. I am simply a college student
aspiring to make a living at this, I could learn a lot from
your ideas.

Lisa
