My Johnston mouthpieces really worked well with my own reeds. In fact
playing that mouthpiece was what got me started with real reed work.

Yes the air and also the oral cavity. There was a good article about
vowel and oral cavity concepts written by or about the Belgian clarinetist
Walter Boeykens some few years ago in the CLARINET but have bee unable to
locate it.
