I have heard a lot of information regarding the REED DUAL lately. Has
anyone used Bob Gilbert/Ed Lakers duplicating machine? I own one and it
seemed to work back in the days when I had time to make reeds. (Unfor-
tunately this was four or five years ago) It uses a blade and planes
the reed blank. It reminds me of a bassoon or oboe cane gouger. It is
rather a pricey little machine. The one problem I tended to find was
keeping the blade sharp enough. One can remove it and sharpen it but
the re-setting of the blade is tricky. Has anyone been using this machine
consistantly and with good results?
