Dear Jeremy: The book will give you a great deal of insight into reeds and
adjusting. It is not just for making them. The author is Glenn H. Bowen
and the book is entitled MAKING AND ADJUSTING CLARINET REEDS. Also there
is a good deal of information in the Stubbins book THE ART OF CLARINETISTRY.

Something I was told by Jerry Stowell when I was a master's student at
Northwestern makes much more sense as I get older: 95% OF WHAT IS WRONG
WITH THE CLARINET IS BEHIND THE MOUTHPIECE. Say hello to Prof. Hofman of
your theory dept. I am a member of his PhD com.
