My experience of Vandoren reeds would suggest that you have not yet found
the two or three good ones that exist in the two boxes you bought.

I'm sure that I may upset some hardened Vandoren users by that statement but
amoung my own musical friends and acquaintances it is accepted that out of
a box of ten you will find one good reed and the rest will need further
doctoring to bring up to a playable state. Most of these people will
swear by Vandoren when push comes to shove.

Bottom line: keep hunting, there is a good reed or two there.
