Perhaps and indeed my writing was not clear. I didn't mean to imply
by any means that Gigliotti was bitter and jaded, rather Dr. Spring, who
said that only a "younger" player wouldn't know that Gigliotti was the "best
player in the world." Personally, I think that Gigliotti IS in fact a good
performer and probably teacher, though I haven't studied under him. I was
simply trying to express my unhappiness towards the person who accused young
clarinetists of being somewhat musically unaware and even insignificant
because we don't think that Gigliotti is at the top of the heap.

I thank you for pointing out the confusion and hope that you can see
where I am coming from.

P.S. Thank you as well to whomever pointed out that "vacuosity" isn't a word.
I will instead submit, "vacuity."
