Jeez, Miss Ross, it was a joke! I agree with Dr. Spring, who I think
believes you can't construct such a list without having a strong
personal bias built into it! My note meant to show what such a list
could easily look like. But Lord, such a reaction!

This discussion group is not edited, so may I humbly suggest that people
who are about to fly off the handle take a deep breath, maybe drink some
warm milk?

I was aware that Gigliotti must be getting old, but I was sorry to hear
he had turned jaded & bitter, etc.. First I had heard of it.
Thanks for the tip on Wright; I'll try to find a copy. I agree that
that Shifrin is great and should be on Carolyn's list.

By the way, if you will look up my niece Genevieve Walsh there at
Oberlin, she will affirm that I am NOT vacuous. Also, she will help
you find out whether "vacuousity" is an English word.

Thanks for a more reasonable correction from Dr. Bogers, but it really
helps to prove my point.
