As everyone has a different opinion of what constitutes good clarinet
playing I simply do not believe that such a list can be, could be, or
should be created. We all, as teachers/performers or simply enjoyers of
music, have favorite players, or even favorite players of individual styles
of music. I would hope that all of us continue to try to listen to as many
performers as possible and to try not to peg individuals as the best
players or the worst players. Our ideas of best and worst should expand
and grow with each new generation of players, not be confined to a sigular
few!
