From: "Debora H. Pagurek" <dhpagure@-----.CA> Subj: Info on Artley clarinets? Date: Tue, 22 Jun 1993 20:17:20 -0400
I am an amateur clarinetist who would like some information about
Artley clarinets. I began playing clarinet uite a few years ago on a
plastic student model, and quickly noticed that my B-flat clarinet was
noticably shorter than other B-flat clarinets and was, therefore,
sharp. I did like the tone on this clarinet - however I did have
problems with tuning and poor mechanism. Are there other clarinetists
out there who own Artleys? Do you have wood Artleys? What is the
general reputation of these clarinets?
I have since bought a Buffet Crampon, and use a Vandoren B-45
mouthpiece with a Luyben ligature, and Vandoren reeds #3 or #3 1/2.
Not quite pleased with the tone however. Any comments?
