Hi Clarinet Players,
On this past Monday night I saw Larry Combs and the Chicago
Symphony perform in Ft. Lauderdale. Man they were hot! They nailed
Bruckner #4 to the wall. In listening to all of their cds I could
tell that they were pretty tame for them that night but they still
blew me away!!! I was kinda disappointed that Combs didn't have much
of a part in the concert but in the encore we stood up, played the
cadenza from hell and did some jazz. He made my night!!! I got to
to talk to him and the big Adolfmeister in the trumpet section for about
10 minutes a piece. Two really nice guys who are quite humble and
were actually really interested in what I had to say. Maybe it was
the Florida weather? Anyway, FLoridians check your calenders because
they may be heading your way!!! I got a ticket by luck because I
didn't even know that they were in FLorida.

Have fun practicing,

Bill at Stetson University
