Hey there all. My name is Andrea Hakari. I'm a sophomore vocal/instrumental
education major at St. Olaf College, Northfield, Minnesota. I study bass
clarinet with Dr. Jo Ann Polley. I also play bass and Bb contra clarinets
in the St. Olaf Band, and Bb contra in the clarinet choir here. I guess I
could be called a low clarinet specialist - I played Bb soprano for one year,
then switched to bass in 1985, and I've been playing bass and Eb/Bb contras
ever since. I'm hoping someday to play on the Martino _Triple Concerto_ .
That would be a *blast* 8-)

ObQuestion: Could anyone recommend any grad schools that A) have a strong
"woodwinds" program (i.e. the one at North Texas), and B) would
allow my major instrument to be bass, NOT soprano? Schools
with good assistantships are a plus. I'm starting to look, so
I know what kind of GPA I need, and how far I have to boost it
as I've got a 2.86 now, and many if not most schools want a 3.0.
Help is appreciated!
