I have had my set of Buffet R-13's for a long time - my Bb for about 10-12
years and my A for 8 to 10 years and I play them a lot. My Bb has a lot of
the mottled key effect but I do not find it to be a major problem It does not
interfere with the functionality of my instruments and it is not noticeable
from a distance so I have left it alone. I let my repairman do whatever he
feels is necessary to keep them in shape and he does an excellent job of
keeping them in working order.
