I didn't mean to give the impression that I went to Peabody - Iggy
Gennusa is just an old friend and a lifelong inspiration. I took some
lessons from him at Transylvania and I get advice from him every now and
then.

I am deeply impressed by anyone who can make a reed from scratch. My
off-the-cuff guess is that the Department of Agriculture Department
would be unhappy about bringing foreign cane plants into the country. If
you could find the species name, perhaps various state agencies would
have lists of what plants grew where. Several wild and cultivated
varieties of Bamboo grow in these parts.
