I've been following the exchanges on this listserv for a while
and thought that I should introduce myself. I'm an amateur
clarinetist in the SF Bay area and play in local orchestras,
currently the Nova Vista Symphony and the Stanford Symphony
Orchestra. I frequently play E-flat and occasionally saxophone
parts. For several years, I have studied with Michael Corner, of
the San Jose Symphony, and prior to that with Gregory Dufford of
the San Francisco Opera Orchestra. Clark Fobes maintains my
instruments, and I use his mouthpieces. I have a Ph.D. in
theoretical physics, work as a software development manager, and
have a strong interest in the acoustics of the clarinet.
