it my understanding that v-12's are more rigorously selected & generally of a b
etter quality & cut. I find all vandorens need some adjusting (mainly balancin
g) to suit mouthpiece. Personally, I use Oliveri Tempered #4, with a special,
more open mouthpiece made to suit this less-dense, but thicker reed. With about
a 118 tip, it is easy to get a full, dark, rich sound.
