Mark Weiger was unusual in that he infused his concerts with =

humor. He was a comedian. You only had to meet him once to recognize =
that.

oboe playing was graceful, thoughtful, virtuosic, and like his =
personality,

his programming was varied and far ranging.

Mark's humor had, from time to time, a touch of sarcasm sometimes =
innocent=20
sexual reference. Mostly his humor was based on immediate observation =
of=20
things around him. Always funny, his quick mind was impressive.

As an oboe educator he was superior. His students were and are not only =

astoundingly great players, but people who developed high integrity,
clearly=20
having learned kindness, humor, right attitude, generosity of spirit =
and
grace=20
from their teacher. He had patience, determination and the ability to
observe=20
and correct minute issues that when adjusted, made for not only better =
oboe

playing, but happier personalities.

Cruel words about him were a result of total misunderstanding of his
