Subj: [DR-L] Fibre Reed review

Sameer,

Flattery will get you everywhere ;)

BTW, you took my comment about a daughter playing on plastic reeds a little
out of context. And I have a son, not a daughter. But anyway . . .

I think these plastic (and all the plastic reeds I've ever tried) are
suitable for certain situations only, and even in those situations only for
use by people who can make their peace with them:
* pit doublers who absolutely cannot warm up a reed
* outdoor players who can't be heard anyway
* kids who tend to tangle the reed in their hair
* a small number of folks who honestly and truly enjoy these reeds (in their
humble opinion) and re-order them on a consistent basis.

An experienced player with expectations of any sort will be rudely surprised
by what plastic reeds provide. The old fibrous style material that is no
longer available was pretty cool, because it had some feel of vibration in
the mouth, whereas these plastics are dense and unyielding. I wish there was
better - I would carry them.

In closing - my guarantee stands Sameer - send the reeds back! I'll refund
you for them - happily. No one should be stuck with reeds, or any other
stuff they don't like.

All the best,

Brian Charles
