No one has commented about being able to carry all the stuff onstage
that a bassoonist needs:

instrument
strap(s--I'm fighting arthritis)
reeds
water
extra bocals
tools
instrument
what else? music? music glasses? ear plugs?

I don't have enough hands to carry all that equipment except by
having it all in my case. There wouldn't be enough time to unpack
all the stuff and warm up yet again before the downbeat. Sure, maybe
the violins can do it gracefully.
