This timing is correct. The broadcast is in real time, so the two
intermissions run just as they do in performance -- about a half-hour each.
At the beginning of both there are short interviews with Levine, Voigt,
casting director, stage director, and so on. Then there is about 20"
unscheduled, and the screen shows a minute count-down until curtain. There
is a camera facing the curtain, broadcasting the break sounds of the crowd
and pit, just like you were there!

Although theatres generally don't allow outside food, mine seemed to suspend
rules for the opera crowd. I saw lots of bottled drinks, sandwiches and so
on. Five hours is a long time, but, hey, it flies by!

I just checked the encore for Sunday- local theater lists it for 5 hours
35 minutes? How long is the intermission?
