Preparing to board a plane for Sweden several years ago, I was stopped
at the entry security X-ray machine and asked in a loud voice if I could
explain the clips of bullets, (which were in my oboe case and in the
brief case which carried all of my personal things). Looking at the
screen from a slanting angle, I could see the rows of reed staples ...
which did look much like rows of bullets through the machine. Luckily,
his supervisor heard the question, raced to the scene to view the
screen, immediately announcing that it was OK, because it was only a
Clarinet, then let me through. I didn't wait to correct him.
Dennis, in Australia.

Among the things were a bassoon that he wanted me to take a look at and estimate a value - and another thing that he thought was a kind of wind instrument, but wasn't really sure. That was a clarinet!! First time I meet someone who knows what a bassoon is, but NOT what a clarinet is.
