Subj: [DR-L] Micrometer question
Date: Thu, 14 Feb 2008 11:36:40 -0500

I own 2 different micrometers. When I measure gouged cane with the
expensive Rieger, it shows a thickness of 0.6 mm. When I measure with
the other one (a cheapie gift that a friend gave me) I get 0.50.
Other thicknesses show a similar difference of about 0.10mm.

So the question I have is which one is right? Also, how can I tell
the accuracy of either? A friend suggested using feeler gauges.

Any ideas, anyone?

David
