A lot of video games do not even use the sound card to make the music.
Most of the music is already recorded, and is looped. The Sims is one
such example, going way back to 199X or something. Not sure where you
got that quote from. Call of Duty has a real soundtrack done by a real
orchestra. There was an article in Mix magazine about it last month I
believe.
Being "replaced by sampling" has been going on for decades now. I
don't see why you are bringing this up as something new. Does it
really matter?
