Larry,
After watching several of my reed clients attempt to screw the reed onto the
bocal, and hearing complaints of them twisting apart, I have been using
cyanoacrylate with good effect. It also helps to maintain the integrity of
the shrink tubing.
Take a look at this guys solution to reeds drying out.
