Subj: [DR-L] note nomenclature
Date: Mon, 07 Jan 2008 12:34:57 -0500

Hello all and Happy New Year.
I have a question.
My quintet is playing the Mladi by Janacek.
In the last movement at circle 7, the bassoon has a dotted 1/2 note with 3 slashes on the note flag.
I am assuming that this translates to 2 groups of 16th notes, or 12 16th notes per bar.
Is this correct?
Can someone spell out the rule for this notation.
Thanks in advance.
Pat Gunter
