Shawn,

If I have a student with this problem, I try to get
them to raise the back of the tongue. This creates a
smaller air stream (like biting) without changing the
tone quality. I tell them to say ahhh-eeeee. When
you do that, the back of the tongue goes up. Then
they need to think that when they play the high notes.
