Subj: [DR-L] "Suite Cantabile" by Bill Douglas -- L.A. performances Monday

If any of you in the Los Angeles area would like to attend two performances tomorrow, MONDAY, (free, at the USC Thornton School of Music), the Scholarship Woodwind Quintet which I coach will be performing "Suite Cantabile" by Bill Douglas. The afternoon performance is part of the semester-ending Woodwind Gala, from 2 to 4:30 p.m. in the United University Church. My guess is that Bill's piece will go on about 3:00 p.m. Then, at 6:00 p.m., in Newman Hall, the group will play it again at a Chamber Music Marathon Concert. It will be recorded, with possible broadcasts a few weeks later on KUSC-FM radio.

The group has done an excellent job working on the piece, and I'm looking forward to both performances very much.
