Dear List,

Here is the work on YouTube...an extraordinary piece of music unfortunately
not well represented by the limited number of artists willing to share their
performances...rather a collection of visual images reinforcing the fantasy
of a wedding, perhaps.

Matthew Peaceman, baroque oboist from Germany, performed this piece with the
Atlanta Baroque Orchestra in January 2005. The reviews were sterling and
the audience was held "stun-gunned" throughout the entire concert featuring
Matthew on the baroque oboe/oboe d'amore.

Enjoy!

The Wedding Cantata that I know of is BWV 202 "Weichet nur, betrubte
Schatten" scored for soprano soloist, no chorus, strings, continuo
and solo oboe.
There is a violin obbligato movement and a wonderful oboe obbligatos
also. A lovely score. It last 25 glorious minutes.
