I got this today "Nite Ize Fiber Obtic Adapter" which fits on the end of
a AA Size Maglite. It has a very small led light and a 6" flexible fiber
obtic wand. It goes up to the tip of the oboe staple. I don't think
there are smaller led lights at least I ddi not see any in my hardware
store. You can control the brightness by changing the focus on the
maglite. For $7.00 or so, it does the job. The light is bright but I
think you'd have to work in a darkened room to see all the contours of
the reed. I never use a mandrel when I make reeds except to wind them.
