Thanks for posting that, Phil!
When my two boys were growing up in the mid 80's, Sesame Street was
always on. It was so entertaining and educational. But for me, the best
part was who would show up, especially great artists like YoYo Ma,
Ithzak Perlman, Seji Ozawa, etc.
I couldn't find it, but out there some place is Perlman doing a duet
with Oscar the Grouch, he's wearing a dirty set of tails, in the middle
of the piece he takes out his handkerchief and blows his nose, and then
when they're done, the audience throws garbage at them, in appreciation!
It's wonderful!
Here's a classic musical number, Ernie sings PUT DOWN THE DUCKIE.
In it are Ithzak Perlman, Pete Seeger, Paul Simon, Wynton Marsalis, John
Candy, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Jeremy Irons, Keith Hernandez and Mookie

And, by way of connection back to double reeds, so I won't get flamed
for posting a non-DR topic, if you ever hear a contrabassoon on the real
early episodes of Sesame Street, like from the 70's, that's my
instrument. I bought it in 1980 from a great doubler in town, Wally
Kane. He wasn't using his Mollenhauer contra that much by then, and he
wanted to buy a lobster boat, so he sold it to me. Now, whenever we see
each other, he says to me "Hey, Harry, how's my contrabassoon?" and I
say "Hey, Wally, how's my lobster boat?"
