Harold --

I think you'd find a little of both. There are some in the US with great
taste and a keen sense of style or even threatrics. While it has been my
observation that most in the US (apart from musicians, themselves) would
fall into the latter category.

When John Kennedy Jr. died, there was a public service which left much to be
desired. Had his mom still been alive and helped with the service, it would
have likely been much different. Honestly, I don't think the Kennedy family
had any clue regarding how many in the US felt a very real sense of loss
with his death.

Just my two cents -

Kevin
