Dear List:
Don't know if any of you watched today via BBC the commemorative service at
the
Cathedral in London of Princess Diana's death .Was and am always impressed
by the use of Great music the Brits traditionally employ in their
ceremonies.Pomp and circumstance in the good sense: we heard Bach,Faure,
Purcell and the whole series of lovely works for mixed chorus, boys choir and
orchestra.
Does the USA these days in general use good music in the churches---and
synagogues--or is leaning more to "ïnnovative" music with drummers banging
away and guitars strumming?
Await any replies.
Rgds,
Harold Emert
