Hmmm, a radical difference between the American and the European models....
I've never tried the American bore model so can't really comment but,
apart from Yamaha's having done their homework regarding accoustical
science, they also do their homework regarding market strategie... it
may only be a legend but it is my understanding that Yamaha's people
talked extensively with top players in both the States as well as in
Europe and then tried to fullfill the wishes of both with at least two
separate models. One to fullfill the wishes of the American players, one
of European players.
What does this tell us about perpetuating tradtion/legends/prejudices?
Anyway if the above is true, I would certainly recommend that if there
is a chance to do so, then give the YOB 831 European model a try. It
might be a revelation.
And Ed, thanks for the reed lesson.
