Actually when I heard Buchman (he played with our orchestra - Weber) he was
playing a Heckel and sounded good.
My analogy was to the effect that both the Lexus and the Camry perform the
exact same function, just a little differently. I really meant no insult.
Actually I should have used - a friend drives a LS 460. I prefer the GS400
and would not like the LS. He would hate the GS. Both excellent in any way
you want to evaluate - just a bit different.
I accept the correction on the Porsche/Ferrari comparo. There was a
time(1971-72) when Porsche made a 2.2 liter car. They offered a model S and
a model E, each with the identical block, but with different valves and cam
etc. Most folks drove the E faster because the S required a slightly
different set of skills to get the most out of it. You pays yer money and
you takes yer choice!
My mind is still open.
