My analogy was to illustrate that there is performance potential in many
things which will not be realized by the lesser or simply different
practitioner. Are there not oenophiles who can taste things that others just
"don't get"?
I'm not sure of that to which you allude; and just what the heck is a
Heckelphile? Is it similar to a Foxist? Is a 601 "better" than a 660? Is it
possible that folks are different and that one may hear/feel something which
eludes another (equally competent but different) performer, and which is
neither better nor worse, only preferred?
I like Porsches; my wife hates them and prefers Ferrari. So, which of us is
"right"?
