Dear List,
I have just learned that Elizabeth Koch, the 21-year old new Principal Oboe=
=20
with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra has rejected both her Yamaha oboe and h=
er=20
borrowed Lor=E9e as the instrument of choice to launch her dazzling career=20
with the ASO. She has selected a Japanese oboe which apparently is the iPh=
one=20
of oboes in Japan and spreading worldwide in popularity.
My source of information inside the orchestra administration and a member o=
f=20
the Atlanta Baroque Orchestra Board was not familiar with the latest in obo=
e=20
production/technology in Japan. Can anyone offer more details on this=20
instrument?
Elizabeth is currently performing in Japan.
