Dear Harold,
The Atlanta Baroque Orchestra musicians rehearse in jeans and
sweats...whatever they can afford. John Hsu, our Artistic Director, dons dress pants and a
pressed shirt (no tie).
Janie
Dear List:
I have always want to ask this question about "what is the proper attire to
wear at orchestra rehearsals"but always thought the query a bit
superficial. In light of the increasing number of female musicians in every
orchestra though I believe the query is pertinent to these Lists. Also note
the news item below..
Any feedback is always appreciated.
Rgds,

Rio-Brazil
Rio de Janeiro--Composer of over 400 musical scores for films from "the
MIssion"to Spaghetti Westerns with Clint Eastwood,Oscar winner Ennio
Morricone,has his own manias (idiosyncracies).
Currently in Rio rehearsing the Petrobras Sinfonica for a program of his
works this Saturday evening ,he requested that three musicians in the
orchestra change their clothes. They were all wearing purple,a colour which
Morriconi hates.
