Reading Mr. Caldwell's wonderful article about Ron Fox brought back many
memories for me. I had the pleasure of playing with Ron for a couple of
years when I lived in San Diego, and not only was he absolutely brilliant,
he was also a very kind man who was very gracious to the young college kid
who sat next to him once a week absorbing all. It felt as if everything had
come full circle when one of his students attended my Northwest Oboe Seminar
last year!
By the way, I remember that he was also well-known for being a wine expert
as well.
