The dollar bill is used because it is mildly abrasive, and is supposed
to "scrub" whatever substance is causing the stickiness off the pad,
without damaging the pad.

Others have already responded with the names of other products that
leave the substance intact, but eliminate the stickiness.

Subject: [DR-L] cleaning sticky pads (cork)

Hi all,

Occaisionally I have a pad that will stick or have a student with this
problem.
What methods or products can be used to clean the pad?

In the past, I've used a new US bill, but isn't there also some fluid
one can use?

Thanks,
Miriam
