Subj: [DR-L] Oboe's forked F
Date: Mon, 02 Apr 2007 14:09:54 -0400

Addenda:
I learned the"trick" of using the Eb key with the forked F many moons ago
from a Belgian bassoonist,a fine instrumentalist/bn. prof who taught the
top oboe,bn. and cl in the South African Broadcasting Corporation(my first
paying job). It worked in the old days before tuning machines.Check the two
Fs on the tuner and you will note that the Forked F with the Eb will turn
out to be too sharp
