From: "Javier Rodriguez" <contrabassoons@-----.com> Subj: [DR-L] Looks like the AFM website got hacked Date: Sun, 01 Apr 2007 02:36:07 -0400
So its midnight on April 1st, and I'm checking the AFM audition ads since
they are always updated on the first of every month, and I see this:
The Bohica Orchestra
BASSOON - Rear Bassoon
Resume Date - April 1, 2006
Audition Date - April 1, 2007 in Bendover, Main
Starting Date - The 2005-2006 season.
Salary/Benefits - 75 cents plus half a tzikehn!
Services - Yes, please.
General Information - Conducted by the infamous Nathan Kahn, Last of the
Bohicans. Repertoire includes The Nutcracker, 4'33'', and the entire Kenny G
songbook.
Contact Information - Please contact phone number below. Please do not
e-mail us, as we have thrown our computers out of the Windows.
Phone - 1-800-BEND-LOW
Website - www.bohica.com
So Im assuming that either the website got hacked, or the AFM got duped into
allowing someone with a very clever sense of humor advertise this
'audition'. At first it was very shocking to read on a website such as the
AFM's, but I have to say...its kinda pretty gosh darn funny. Kind of like
the uncyclopedia entry on the bassoon: http://uncyclopedia.org/wiki/Bassoon
I guess April fool's day isnt safe at any website.
Cheers,
Javier Rodriguez
