No matter what you do you must make sure you have precise alignment &
crushed contact between the two blades and tube halves. Nothing will
prevent leakage if the reed isn't put together correctly. I have used all
the methods of wraping a reed and the best yet and the one I've used for
over 10 years (with commercial success) is cyanoacrylate. It is like water
in consistency and penetrates the connection between the two halves of the
reed. If your reed plays with nothing on it then to keep it together when
dry use this method. It must be applied when damp just after crushing the
tube for best results. I have never had one fall apart & I've made
