After using toothpaste handles in acetone, heatshrink tubing, Duco Cement &
other methods like the Turks Head dipped in Duco I have settled with
Cyanoacrylate. Commonly found at hobby shops one drop down each side(fast
setting 3 to 5 second variety) after forming the tube is more than enough to
keep a reed from slipping & as a matter of fact once applyed it is
impossible to adjust blade alignment. You could probably take the wires off
and still not get the reed apart without destroying it. Lawrence Rhodes.
