"Oh - Oh! Well, I MUST say that it was just a pleasure to be nominated and
included along with all the others who have contributed not only monetarily,
but with their wisdom and wit over the years! (wiping away tears) Even
though I am mainly known as a 'lurker' I have learned so much from reading
the list and have passed this knowledge along to my students at every
opportunity. (sniffle) Really, I was happy to send my donation, and never
expected anything in return, and I wish I had prepared a better acceptance
speech, but it never occurred to me that I would win! There are some people
I should thank: (music begins to play softly - the Mozart Divertimento #11
to be exact) My teachers; my parents who always supported me despite the
constant squawking and putting up with reed thread tied to anything immobile
and reed shavings everywhere; my double-reed colleagues the world over who
have been brought closer to me because of this list (music begins to swell -
I speak faster); and my students who continue to inspire me, blah, blah,
blah (hard to hear now as music is playing so loudly and curtain is
beginning to close) and I humbly accept this CD on the behalf of my husband,
Timoteus, who was named, (yelling now) but is actually a violinist and
happened to have his name on the check but this CD will be mine, Mine, MINE
and I can't wait to hear it!" (blowing kisses while being dragged off stage
by Harold Emert who was coming up to announce the winner in the next
category.)
Seriously - thanks Mark and thank-you to the person who donated the CD. I
appreciate all the work that goes into maintaining this valuable resource
and am grateful to be a part of it.
