Miriam,

When I had my first oboe (Wooden Selmer) i noticed many of those
hairline cracks on the top joint around the octave vent and and a few
here and there. And yes I was able to feel them with my finger nail
though they never increased in size. I just assumed it was just the
texture of the wood. Selmer suck big time in their oboes production
anyways!!
