While trying to tackle San Francisco 49ers running back Roger Craig during
Super Bowl XXIII (on January 22, 1989), Cincinnati Bengals nose tackle Tim
Krumrie had his left leg snapped like a breadstick, his tibia and fibula
shattered in three places. Coach Sam Wyche ran over from the sidelines. His first
words to his injured player? "Get up, Timmy!"

[The Aftermath? The 49ers won the game (20-16) with 34 seconds on the clock;
Krumrie returned the next season - with a 15-inch titanium rod in his leg.]
