I would try the Oboe Reed Making book by Hedrick; it has some decent
photos and a good description of the basics. I gather some people like
The Oboe Reed Book by Light; I find the book poorly produced
(manuscript style), and it's rambling style, including putting down
other methods, doesn't appeal much to me.

However, I would recommend reading everything you can to find the
method that suits you.
