Approximately 85% of musicians that perform with the ABO are flown in from
around the world. I would estimate that 90% have one doctorate in early
music...2-3% have two. John Hsu, our distinguished Artistic Director, is not even
a remote target for a critical dart.
I just this evening approached our "critic" regarding his request for a
private interview this month with John Hsu in preparation for a feature article
prior to our November Mozart concert...photo op included. I wonder what his
academic background in "forestry" will bring to the table?
Some days I wonder if my career in health care creates a thin skin. :-(
