I have fond memories of playing his piece "The Padstow Lifeboat" which
was composed in either 1967 or 1976. (I'm not quite sure from
http://www.padstow-lifeboat.org.uk/History.htm which it was but it got
its premiere in 1876, so it could have been the latter.)

This piece was originally written for brass band, but I have performed
it in its version for concert band.

The piece contains good tunes, but is interrupted from time to time by
the discordant foghorns which sound off throughout the piece. I really
love doing those foghorn blasts!
