From: Dan Duncan <danjduncan@-----.com> Subj: [DR-L] bassoon reed maker, Edgar Sherman information Date: Mon, 18 Sep 2006 11:50:58 -0400
After reading about John Grant from Chicago (Whom I never did know or
know of) I got to thinking about Edgar Sherman who was (I think) a
high school band director who also must have loved to make reeds.
During my HS days (the 1950's!) they were the gold standard for a
great reed in my opinion. He also sold blanks in various stages and
I remember buying those years after I started making my own reeds.
Any additional information would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Dan
