I suppose I'll add my 2=A2 here, because I was involved in this thread, =20=

so....

In our musical world, it's been my experience that somebody or other =20
usually knows the results of semi-final auditions and they become =20
rather "public", although usually not in a formal manner. There =20
seems to be no legal restrictions to sharing this information, that =20
is the "results". What is confidential is the audition, itself. And =20=

the confidentiality stems from the listening panel supposedly not =20
knowing who is behind the screen, playing for them. In the past, on =20
our double-reed lists, I have never noticed that the names of those =20
people who have made the final round of auditions have been kept =20
secret from the general public. That's been my perception, at any rate.
